Who is this suitable for?

This programme is designed for those who have autistic sensory learners in their care. Many autistics are Gestalt Language Processors (GLPs), meaning that they learn to communicate backwards compared to neurotypical communicators. 

"Gestalt" means "whole" - Gestalt Language Processors learn whole phrases first, often from their environment, attaching meaning to these phrases.

This programme can be used alongside any communication device of their choice, speech, signing, symbols, AAC, sound buttons, anything! As well as alongside any phonics programme your school runs. 

What are core words?

While spoken language has at least 250,000 words, a list of only 200 words accounts for about 80% of the words you see every day! These words are called “core words".
