Welcome to my "Ask Me Anything" blog post series!
I answer lots of questions on my social media channels, and it makes sense to share this information (anonymously!) in case it is useful for others too.
"I have a child who is enjoying the effect of breaking things. At the moment, it’s been Lego structures, mugs, etc, They say “like an egg” when the break happens. At home, they enjoy breaking eggs when cooking. Any ideas of what I could offer to redirect and give this purpose? They also have a trajectory schema. We are in mainstream early years."
Puzzles are great as the pieces are very satisfying to build and break apart. Building towers/any construction toys that break apart are great; however, if thrown, they are often heavy!
Children in my class enjoy biking over flower pots or plastic bottles and enjoy the destruction sounds - far lighter if thrown.
Balloons are fun to destroy and pop, especially water balloons.
I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, let me know.
