Ask Me Anything - Push & Pull Resources

Welcome to my "Ask Me Anything" blog post series!

I answer lots of questions on my social media channels, and it makes sense to share this information (anonymously!) in case it is useful for others, too.

"Morning Jordan, We have a child who, when dysregulated, needs to pull and push items and at the moment, this goes for hair, etc. I’m just wondering if you have any recommendations for push and pull resources that I can order to support them."

Therabands resistance bands like this are amazing.

Some other ideas are:

  • Doing row the bow style movements with an adult
  • Them with their tummy on an exercise ball and push and pull with hands or feet
  • Knocking over a tower of blocks or cups - or even better tyres!
  • Pushing each other on a swing
  • Pushing a wheelbarrow to transport heavy items
  • Pull toys (or cars) to push to each other across the floor or down a ramp.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, let me know.

*I am not a doctor or medical professional, so for some questions, you might want to contact your GP, the National Autistic Society, or the NHS.
